Who I am
I’m in my forties and live in the Tokai region of Japan. I spent years at a small sewer maintenance company, handling everything from quoting and public-sector bidding through to on-site construction management, and in 2026 I moved into the construction consulting industry. I have passed the first stage of the 1st-class Plumbing Works Execution Managing Engineer examination.
Outside work I run, play golf, and collect gadgets. I write about what I have actually bought, used, run in and sat for — as one ordinary user, not as an expert.
What I write about
Most of Gadget Esprit is written in Japanese. This English section collects the posts that are likely to be useful to visitors from outside Japan, which right now means travel guides to places in Japan and guides to watching professional golf here.

- Gadgets — honest reviews of gadgets I bought and used
- Work and everyday notes — my day job in sewer maintenance and construction management
How I review products
Every review covers something I own and have actually used. I don’t read a spec sheet for a product I have never touched and call it great.
That also means I always write down the things that bothered me, not only the things I liked. What matters most to me is that you can decide whether something suits you.
- I only write about what I have bought, used, run in or sat for
- Instead of copying spec sheets, I add figures I measured myself and how the thing actually felt
- I describe the drawbacks, and who a product is not right for, in concrete terms
- Prices and specifications are always marked with the month and year they were checked
How I write travel articles
Everything in the travel articles starts from somewhere I have actually walked around. I don’t rewrite guidebooks or press releases, and if I have not been to a place myself, I don’t write about it.
Opening hours, prices, official rules and anything else that can change are a different matter. I check those against the operator’s own website or the relevant public authority, and I say when a figure comes from there rather than from my own visit. Where something is uncertain, I say so rather than guessing.

This site uses affiliate programmes (Amazon Associates, Rakuten Affiliate and others) and advertising to cover the cost of running it. That never changes how I rate anything: what I actually felt while using something comes first, and as a rule I only introduce products I have bought and used, or experiences I have actually had.
